APOLOGIES!!
Please accept my apologies for being an absent blogger. I confess to not having touched a bead or clay in many many months. My life has become overwhelmingly busy and beading and claying have been pushed to the background for now...not for ever...hopefully. As some of you know I am a teacher and this year I changed year levels...moving from teaching Pre-Primary to Year 1. While I am enjoying this change...I am finding it challenging and am busy trying to keep my head above water...so to speak. It is now coming up to report writing time...so I will be absent awhile longer.
We also have a new addition to our family...a puppy!! I am besotted and she also claims a large lump of my time. I will post some pics of her soon. Thanks for still popping by...I appreciate you! :)

Australia Day!!
It's Australia Day today...national holiday and great national pride!
Somewhat spoilt by the claim that people who flaunt the Aussie flag...like on one's car (as I do)...are racist! This comes from a university study apparently...and I find it offensive!!

Anyways...
We had a fairly low key...but nice day! Happy Australia Day everyone!

Mega Dust Storm
Sunday afternoon saw the swift arrival of a HUGE dust storm...like we havent seen in decades!!!
This photo is taken from our back patio...overlooking the Kalgoorlie Race Course (where we had spent a wonderful Kalgoolie Cup Day on Saturday)
You can barely see the outline of the marquees and tents...which they were half way though taking down.
Huge dust storm = a nine hour power outage and piles of dust indoors...not happy Jan!!!

Gotta a Leaf thing going!!

I have a little leaf fetish...and have been making lots of leaves...I have put together a couple of simple but vibrant necklaces...with more to come at some stage!

It is something I will treasure...and made from someone I admire greatly. Lynda Moseley from SCDiva hosts a monthly giveaway on her blog.Lynda is an amazingly talented polymer clay artist in the US. She is also incredibly generous and  a lovely person. I am happy to have 'meet' her!! :)
She often collaborates with other fantastically talented people...as in this case. The necklace for July features beads made by Jill Kollmann. These ladies work well together...I can't tell you how much I LOVE this necklace!!! I am a lucky girl indeed!!!
